Registered Nurse (RN) Jobs
RN
Registered nurses assess patients, plan and deliver care, give medications and treatments, and coordinate with the wider care team across hospital, specialty and home settings.

NP, CRNA, CNS, CNM
Advanced practice registered nurses hold a graduate degree and national certification, and diagnose, treat and prescribe within their population focus and state scope of practice.
License you need: an RN license, state APRN licensure and national board certification. Each state licenses APRNs separately.
Licensed Nurse Jobs
LPN / LVN
Licensed practical nurses, called licensed vocational nurses in California and Texas, give direct patient care under the direction of RNs and physicians.
License you need: an active practical or vocational nursing license for the work state, or a multistate LPN license where both states are compact members.

CNA, PCT, HHA
Nursing support staff help patients with daily living, mobility, vital signs and comfort, and keep the nursing team informed of changes.
License you need: certification on the state nurse aide registry for CNA roles; patient care technician and home health aide roles have their own training requirements.
Questions about roles
More answers on our help page.
Which role should I search for?
Search for the role that matches the license you hold now. Each job lists the license and experience it needs, so you can check before you apply.
Can I apply with a multistate (compact) license?
Yes, where the job is in a Nurse Licensure Compact state. States such as California and New York are not compact members, so jobs there need that state’s own license.
What is the difference between an LPN and an LVN?
The role is the same. California and Texas use the title Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN); other states use Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
