How the job types differ
A quick guide to what each type usually means. Every listing confirms the details for that job.
Contract
- A set assignment length, shown on the listing (for example 13 weeks or 3 months)
- Start and end dates agreed before you begin
- Often used for travel and short-term coverage
Full time
- An ongoing position with a regular schedule
- Typically the most hours per week
- Benefits depend on the employer and are listed on the job page
Part time
- An ongoing position with fewer hours per week
- Useful alongside study, family or another role
- Schedule details are listed on the job page
Can a contract role become permanent?
Some can. When a listing is contract-to-hire it says so. For other contracts, ask your recruiter whether an extension or conversion is possible.
Where do I see how long a contract runs?
The assignment length is shown in the facts at the top of every contract listing.
Do I need a different application for each job type?
No. You apply the same way for every job, from the job page itself.
